What to look for in an outplacement service provider
- Availability: Does the company only offer on-site help, or do they also offer online support? Companies that offer both individual on-site help and online tools are able to reach transitioning employees easier and faster. In addition, service providers can offer many tools to their clients due to technological advances.
- Flexibility: How are the services packages formed? Each company is different; therefore standard packages are not sufficient in maximizing outcomes. Look for companies that offer unique packages that can be tailored to help the company and affected employees reach their goals.
- Efficiency and effectiveness: Research the provider and see if they have any statistics relating to their outcomes, for example; the amount of time it takes for an average affected employee to find a new job. In addition, you want a provider that offers services that cover flexible time periods i.e. 3 months to a year.
