Is It Time For a Career Change?
Have you ever thought about changing your career? Maybe you pushed the thought aside because you feel that it’s too late to start over. Don’t worry; you’re not the only one feeling that way. In fact, most people have thought about changing their career at one point in time. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “individuals from age 18 to 46 in 1978 to 2010 held an average of 11.3 jobs in their lifetime.” Hopefully this statistic shows you that it’s okay to start over. We’re giving you a few ways to help you decide if it’s time for a fresh start in careers.
- Your job makes you so miserable, you don’t want to go. Now, we don’t mean the usual Monday morning blues. We mean that anything is better than going to work, and you will avoid it at all costs.
- Your job is personally affecting you. When you think of your job, you automatically feel stress and anxiety overwhelm you.
- Your job responsibilities and personal skills do not match up. You have more to offer than what the job entails. You want to be challenged and grow within the company.
- Your work environment is not suitable for you. You may not have the same beliefs as the company, or your relationship with coworkers may not be fixable.
